Hot Mess Summer is a lighthearted, drama-packed tabletop role-playing game for 2–5 players about unstable friendships, insecurities, secrets, and chaos during one unforgettable summer vacation. Your characters are young adults hanging out at the beach, the pool, the boardwalk, and late-night house parties—away from their parents for the first time and navigating tricky social waters, where everything can spiral into embarrassment, conflict, or full-on meltdowns in the blink of an eye.

The game is flexible: play with a Drama Maker (DM) guiding the story, or go DM-free in Drama Maker-less mode, where everyone helps stir the pot. All you need are a handful of six-sided dice, the short printable rulebook, and a character sheet for each player.

Character creation is quick and fun, giving you flawed but relatable messes to throw into awkward situations. The rules keep things simple, focusing on interpersonal drama, risky choices, and the ever-rising Hot Mess Meter that guarantees trouble will come crashing down and piling up fast.

Whether you want a single session of chaotic fun or a mini-campaign of slow-burn secrets and disasters, Hot Mess Summer is built to deliver cringe, comedy, and chaos.
